Out on the muddy coast

Out on the muddy coast
Brine pooled and sunk shipped
Where the low tide releases our rended feet
All friction burnt and flakeskin fed
A lone girl stands once more

She's clothed in a skinscar suit and desert hair
So you look ahead and curse the horizon
And the dreamlight it spreads over waters never tread

I clutch a deep cove next to my wet breast
A place where I drowned and found myself
She wonders if she'll ever leave the nest
Dragging your chains we forged in barren sand
To dip its head into a new sea

Everytime you form a new pearl to throw into the ocean
I kill it and drag it land-wards behind
To leave her trapped in coastal limbo where we cry
